Ducks in a row

I was talking to a successful business woman in Melbourne a few days ago.

One thing that she mentioned struck a chord. She was lacking clarity and she felt that she needed to have all of her ducks in a row.

Perhaps many of you reading this feel the same way.

How would you feel if I tell you that it’s only your fear of taking the leap? In other words, you don’t need your ducks in a row.

As entrepreneurs, we have big ideas and visions. With those also come resistance in the form known as lots of ducks or simply a long list of tasks.
What we need to remember is that if the goal is truly big you cannot know all the steps involved.

The need for ducks in a row simply means you are fearing the leap. Those ducks are your resistance. More than likely, the tasks of duck coordination and configuration can be delegated and are not as important as you think they are.

I invite you to write down your ducks and see if they truly need to be in a row. Chances are they are simply there so that you safely stay where you are, thereby maintaining your homeostatic state – the status quo. Because taking a leap is damn scary. That’s your limbic brain taking the front seat.
What is it going to be for you?

Move forward, taking the leap and really going for it or staying trapped playing with ducks?
